NFL Week 6 October 13, 2013

Week 6 of the NFL season features a number of fascinating contests that should provide a clear indication as to which teams are contenders and which are pretenders.

It's always a daunting proposition to make predictions in what's an increasingly unpredictable sport, but I'm giving it my best shot.

One prediction that won't be featured is my take on the Jacksonville Jaguars/Denver Broncos matchup, but I'll give you my take on this "David vs. Goliath" matchup right here.

No, I'm not going to predict Jacksonville pulling off the biggest upset since Under the Dome was renewed for a second season; in fact, I'm predicting that Denver will cover the 28-point spread.

With that out of the way, here are my last-minute predictions for NFL Week 6.

The Denver Broncos (5-0) will host the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5) this weekend. Courtesy of 506Sports.com, we have a handy-dandy broadcast map to let you know if the game will be televised on your local CBS stations.

If you are in the GREEN, you will get this weekend's game. If you are not in the green, you can always go with DirecTV or a sports bar.

Coming into the game, the Broncos have been (depending on who you ask) 27- and 28-point favorites over the Jaguars, both of those spreads (again, depending on who you ask) represent all-time highs for NFL spreads. The last time Vegas oddmakers had such a large spread was in 1976, when the Pittsburgh Steelers were 27-point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Steelers won that game 42-0 and many are projecting Denver to also blanket Jacksonville this weekend.
