Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen October 5, 2013

In my opinion this is the marquee match up of the Saturday line up. The Bundesliga doesn’t get the love that the English Premier League, La Liga, or even the Italian Serie A league get in the United States.

This game has a loaded and talented Bayern Munich squad, who won the Champions League last May, and have been in three of the last four Champions League finals.

Munich’s opponent, Bayer Leverkusen, isn’t weak competition by any means. They are playing in the Champions League this season and currently sit in third place in the Bundesliga table, one spot behind Bayern Munich.

Date: October 5
Start Time: 12:30 p.m. ET
Location: Leverkusen, Germany

Bayer Leverkusen take on Bayern Munich in the biggest clash of the Bundesliga weekend on Saturday afternoon.

The two sides sit third and second respectively, each having dropped points in just one game so far.

The hosts have won their last three league games, most recently a 2-0 victory over Hannover and it is the same story for Bayern, who beat Wolfsburg by a single goal.

Gonzalo Castro remains out for the hosts, which is a blow for them, while Bayern are still waiting for the return of Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara.
